Cremation?

We’re looking at one of the pages in National Geographic--it's a photo of a river or Mt. Everest or something similarly unrelated. Neene and her friend Allele begin talking about someone whose mother had died while in Kombo. He had been living in America and instead of burying his mother, he wanted them to pour gasoline over the body and burn it.

But neither Neene nor Alelle reveal, through words or expression, whether this was a good thing or a bad thing, an unusual thing or an ordinary thing.
